Synopsis
Like the novel „Einsamkeit und Sex und Mitleid“ Lars Montag’s film adaptation „Sex, Pity and Loneliness“ lets different attitudes and life expectations of urban people clash: Physician Julia hires Callboy Vincent as an escort. He, in turn, has a peculiar agreement with girlfriend Vivian. Julia´s ex-husband Uwe lives out his fantasies with internet-acquaintance Janine. Ecki, a retired teacher, with whom Uwe bickers at the supermarket, has a dark secret linking him to teenage-girl Swentja. Meanwhile, Swentja’s little sister gets kidnapped, which puts the marriage of the girls’ parents, Robert and Mascha, to the test. Finally, there is Thomas who incites xenophobia in his acquaintance Carla.
